Ome Line suspended between Haijima and Ome due to track switching at Ushihama

JR East will suspend all train between Haijima Station and Ome Station on the Ome Line from around 21:00 on November 28, 2020 (Saturday) to around 6:40 on November 29, 2020 (Sunday) due to track switching work at Ushihama Station.

That is a construction to cope with the change from the current 10-car to a 12-car train due to the incorporation of “green car” into the trains running on the Chuo Rapid Line and the Ome Line from the end of 2023. At the same time as extending the Ushihama station platform in the direction of Ome, they will move a part of the outbound track.

The last trains on November 28 (Saturday) will be at 20:48 Tachikawa (21:03 Haijima) bound for Ome / at 20:50 Ome bound for Tachikawa, and will operate a substitute bus thereafter. The last bus is from Haijima at around 1:15 and Ome at around 0:10.

On November 29 (Sunday), the substitute bus will start operating around 5:10 from Haijima and around 4:45 from Ome. The first trains to be operated after the work is at Tachikawa at 6:39 (Haijima 6:52) boud for Mitake / at Okutama 6:06 (Ome 6:46) boud for Tachikawa.

Transfers to other railway companies will not be carried out during the suspension hours. The substitute bus will run every 5 to 10 minutes, and the journey time between Haijima and Ome is about 75 minutes. It takes much longer than usual (about 18 minutes by train), so JR East is calling for people to move as soon as possible or avoid this time zone.

The substitute bus stop for Ushihama Station is located along the Shin-Okutama Kaido Road, about 300 meters from the west exit of the station. In addition, during the suspension hours, tickets to / from Ushihama Station will be available at Kumagawa Station on the Itsukaichi Line, and tickets to / from Fussa Station will be available at Higashi-Fussa Station on the Hachiko Line. In addition, the preliminary day when construction cannot be done due to bad weather etc. is from February 6, 2021 (Saturday) to February 7, 2021 (Sunday).
